How to Wire a Geely 50QT-2B 2002

Two-wheeled, gasoline-powered scooters offer extremely low gas mileage and extreme maneuverability, particularly in densely populated urban areas. The 50QT-2B scooter is made by Geely, a company located in China. The Geely 50QT-2B, made in 2002, has a single-cylinder, two-stroke, forced-air cooled engine. Wiring the Geely may become necessary if the ignition ever wears out, which can happen over time. This repair takes about 30 minutes at home.

Instructions

Lift the latch door on the floorboard upwards to gain access to the scooter's battery.

Remove the Geely's negative battery cable with a socket set.

Open the engine cover and pull the spark plug wire off the spark plug. Disconnect the plastic electrical wiring harness that is connected to the ignition.

Remove the nut holding the old ignition in place with the socket set. Remove the old ignition switch by hand. Insert the new one in the same position the old ignition was in. Insert the retaining nut and tighten it with the socket set.

Plug the plastic electric wiring harness into the new ignition. Slip the spark plug wire back atop the spark plug.

Slip the battery cable back on, tighten it with the socket set and then close the floor panel.
