Damage to your automobile can be tough to look at and to repair. Even a tiny scrape or ding can scuff off a large portion of paint and devalue your automobile. You can get areas of scuffed or damaged paint repaired by a professional, but this could cost hundreds of dollars. Instead, consider doing this simple project yourself; it involves feathering the automotive paint to blend it in with the surrounding paint job.
Instructions
- 1
Spray a layer of paint just a few inches away from the damaged area. Use an automobile paint sprayer loaded with an exact replica of the automobile paint. Allow this first layer to dry.
2Apply a second coat of paint. This time, hold the paint sprayer about eight inches to a foot away. Let this layer dry completely.
3Hold the sprayer out at least six inches farther when applying the third coat of paint. Let the paint dry.
4Continue this process until the new paint has been successfully blended in with the existing paint on the automobile.
