Nissan introduced the entry-level Sentra in the 1985 model year. The 1994 Sentra came in five different trim levels: E, XE, LE, SE, SE-R and GXE. All trim levels, except the SE-R, came with a 108-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The SE-R came with a 138-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The Sentra had an optional AM-FM-Cassette radio in the E trim level and the same radio came standard in the XE, LE, SE, SE-R and GXE levels. Removing this radio requires the removal of the center bezel.
Instructions
Radio Removal
- 1
Open the ashtray in the center bezel. Press the metal locking latch inside the ashtray downward to unlock the ashtray, and pull the ashtray from the center bezel.
2Remove the two screws behind the ashtray and the two screws above the radio, using a Phillips screwdriver.
3Insert the blade of a flat-head screwdriver under the center bezel and pry up on the bezel to release the retaining clips.
4Pull the center bezel from the dashboard. Disconnect the harnesses plugging into the rear of the center bezel, by pressing the locking button and pulling the harness away from the bezel. All Sentras have at least two harnesses -- cigarette lighter and four-way hazard lights. Some Sentras have up to four harnesses, depending on vehicle options.
5Remove the four radio retaining bolts, using a ratchet and socket, and pull the radio out of the dashboard until you can reach the wires on the rear of the radio.
6Unplug the main wiring harness from the rear of the radio, by pressing the locking button and pulling the harness from the radio. Disconnect the antenna wire by pulling it out of the rear of the radio.

9Plug the wiring harnesses into the rear of the center bezel and press the bezel onto the dashboard until the retaining clips snap into place.
10Tighten the two screws above the radio and the two screws inside where the ashtray goes, using a Phillips screwdriver. Reinstall the Sentra's ashtray, by sliding it into the ashtray track at the base of the center bezel.
