Anco, a division of Federal Mogul, manufactures and distributes direct-fit replacement windshield wiper blade products for several different vehicle makes and models. Ideally, vehicle owners should consider replacing their vehicle's wiper blade inserts once or twice a year. Installing a new set of wiper inserts will restore wiper performance and promote safety during harsh weather conditions.
Instructions
- 1
Compare the length of the original wiper blade insert with that of the replacement. This will ensure you have the correct replacement inserts for your vehicle. Do not attempt to install undersized or oversized inserts on your vehicle, as doing so may impede the functionality and performance of the wiper.
2Lift the driver's side wiper blade arm from the windshield until it is fully extended. Place a towel over the lower portion of the windshield to protect the glass from the wiper arm snapping back to the original resting position.
3Rotate the blade assembly on the arm to gain better access to the bottom of the blade. Locate the two arrow-shaped locking tabs, located at the end of the wiper blade.
4Squeeze the locking tabs together and slide the old rubber insert from the blade frame. Carefully lower the blade down over the towel and remove the replacement insert from packaging. Be careful not to let the metal retainers fall out of the grooves on the rubber insert or shift around.
5Extend the wiper arm again. With the non-tabbed end first, feed the insert through the blade frame tracks. Make sure the tabs lock into the end of the blade frame holder. Also ensure the rest of the insert is secured properly within the frame holder.
6Rotate the blade back to the proper position. Remove the towel from the windshield and carefully lower the wiper arm back down.
7Repeat the removal and installation process for the remaining wiper insert.
