The door panel on a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado attaches to the door skeleton with a number of fasteners including plastic pushpins, and steel mounting screws. This panel must be completely removed in order to access the interior parts of the door which include the power window motor, window, door lock rods and the door handle mechanism.

Open the door and insert a flat-head screwdriver between the door handle bezel and the trim panel. Gently pop the door handle bezel loose from the door panel and set it aside.
2Insert a flat-head screwdriver between the power accessory switch panel and the door panel. Pry the switch panel away from the door panel until it pops loose. Disconnect the switch panels electrical connectors and set it aside. If your vehicle is equipped with manual crank windows, use a screwdriver to pry the window crank retaining clip off of the window crank shaft between the crank and the door panel. Set the window crank and the retaining clip aside.
3Gently insert a screwdriver between the triangular side mirror trim panel and gently pop it loose. Remove this panel and set it aside. Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pop the manual lock lever loose from the locking mechanism.
4Remove the trim panel screws around the circumference of the trim panel using a metric nut driver. Pop out the courtesy lamp cover, if equipped, and remove the courtesy lamp from the door. Slide the trim panel up to separate the upper trim panel valance from the door skeleton and separate the trim panel from the door skeleton. Remove any electrical connectors from the trim panel and set it aside.
5Reconnect the trim panel electrical connectors and reinstall the courtesy light. Mate the upper door panel flange to the leading edge of the door skeleton and align the trim panel with the trim panel retaining slots on the door skeleton. Reinstall the accessory switch panel and the window crank lever, if applicable.
6Reinstall the door panel retaining screws and tighten them to 18 inch-pounds using an inch-pound torque wrench. Reinstall the triangular side mirror trim panel and the door handle bezel. Check the panel to make sure that its firmly secured and test the power switches the make sure they function properly.
