The P28 ECU computer was used in many Honda vehicles ranging from the Acura to Prelude to Civic from 1988 to 1996. Many of the vehicle's electrical components are wired directly to the P28 ECU, and you can change around wires for the P28 ECU to operate differently or to increase the performance of your vehicle. For the P28 ECU itself to be wired, its power source needs to be connected.
Instructions
- 1
Open the hood of your Honda vehicle and disconnect the battery using a socket wrench to remove the negative terminal.
2Access the P28 ECU unit. The location of the ECU depends on your vehicle's year. For vehicles made before 1991, remove the metal plate in the footwell of the passenger area to access the ECU. For vehicles manufactured after 1991, the ECU is located behind the plastic panel in the footwell of the passenger area. You might need to use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the panels.
3Plug in the wiring connector into the first pin in the second row of the P28 ECU. The pin should be labeled A4.
4Reattach the panel and reconnect the battery.
