The GM Theftlock system is designed to discourage persons from stealing a properly-equipped factory radio by disabling the unit after a power disruption or after removing the radio from the vehicle. Certain factory radios installed in 2000 model-year GM vehicles employ a code-based Theftlock system, while others are pre-programmed to only operate when the radio is installed in the intended vehicle; requiring specialized equipment to pair the radio to a different vehicle. The code-based version of Theftlock will allow you to program a unique three or four-digit code that will disarm the anti-theft system in the event of a power loss.

Instructions

    1

Decide on a three or four-digit code for the Theftlock system. Write the code down and store it in a safe place; do not store the code in the vehicle.

    2

Switch the ignition to the ON or ACC position. Turn off the vehicle's radio.

    3

Examine the radio and familiarize yourself with the controls. Press and hold the 1 and 4 preset buttons at the same time; release the buttons when --- appears on the LCD display.

    4

Hit the MIN button and wait for 000 to appear on the display. Continue to press the MIN button until the last two digits on the display match the last two digits of your code. If your particular radio features recessed MIN and HR buttons, use a toothpick to press them.

    5

Hit the HR button until the numbers on the display match the first digit(s) of your personal code.

    6

Hit the AM/FM button to confirm your code entry. After hitting the AM/FM button, REP will appear on the LCD display, requiring you to repeat the code entry process, using the MIN and HR buttons, as outlined in Step 4.

    7

Hit the AM/FM button to reconfirm your personal code. When the code has been accepted, SEC will appear on the LCD display, concluding the activation and code programing process.
