Many new Ford trucks come equipped with the Super Power Stroke engine. Hooking up gauges to these vehicles requires the same process as installing gauges on vehicles with different engines. To install the gauges, you use an instrument cluster located behind the steering wheel. If the gauges on the cluster are malfunctioning, then you can replace with new ones and save yourself a trip to the mechanic.

Instructions

    1

Pull the hood-release lever to open the hood of your vehicle.

    2

Remove the battery's negative terminal cable with a socket wrench.

    3

Remove the two screws on the dash, above the steering wheel, using a Phillips screwdriver.

    4

Remove the four screws from the instrument cluster and pull it out towards you. You may need to adjust the steering wheel to pull out the cluster.

    5

Reach behind the cluster to locate the gauge connections. Connect to the respective connectors if necessary. If you need to replace the cluster, disconnect the connections, remove the cluster and install a new cluster into the vehicle.

    6

Re-attach the screws to secure the cluster. Reconnect the battery and close the hood.
