The Ford Focus was introduced in North American in 1999 as a 2000 model. Available in several different body styles, the 2000 Focus models were equipped with a transverse-mounted, in-line, four-cylinder engine coupled to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, which drove the front wheels. The 2001 Focus changed little from the 2000 models. The Focus has a liquid cooling system. Coolant is circulated through the engine by an accessory belt-driven water pump mounted on the engine.
Instructions
- 1
Open the hood.
2Locate the front of the engine block on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
3Locate the water pump pulley, which is mounted at the front of the block directly above the crankshaft pulley, which is at the bottom of the engine block.
4Observe the area directly behind the water pump pulley, as this is where the water pump is mounted to the front of the engine block with retaining bolts.
5Close the hood.
