One of the primary functions of a truck topper window is to add more security for your materials. Broken windows, however, make this security void. So from time to time, truck topper windows need to be replaced. Whether the window is aluminum or another metal does not matter; the process is the same. With the help of a neighbor or friend and the use of a ratchet and socket; you can very easily replace your own truck's topper windows.
Instructions
- 1
Put on your protective gear. Open the window topper and drop the tailgate. Crawl into the truck's bed to position yourself facing toward the window that needs replacement.
2Use a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket to loosen the bolts holding the window to the topper. Have someone help you by holding onto the window as you are loosening it. This will avoid any accidental dropping of this window piece. Have your assistant placed on the opposite side that you are facing.
3Set the replacement window in place on the topper. Use your ratchet and socket to bolt this piece into place. Have the same person as before help you by holding the replacement window into place until you have secured the bolts.
