You should remove the windshield of your Dodge Dart when you have a crack or a chip in the glass that exceeds 1 inch. When this happens, the crack can easily spread over the length of the glass. This can not only impair vision but can also cause the windshield to shatter. Once you've determined that you must replace the windshield on your Dart, the first step is to remove it.
Instructions
- 1
Pry up on the trim that surrounds the windshield of your Dodge Dart. Wedge the teeth of the trim removal tool under the trim and pry up.
2Grab the trim with your fingers, when you can, and pull it off the windshield.
3Cut the urethane sealant that bonds the glass to the frame of the car, using a utility knife. This may take some time, as urethane sealant tends to be rather strong.
4Pull the windshield off the frame of the car. You may need an assistant to help you do this.
