The Grand Am is a mid-sized car that was produced by Pontiac. The blower control resistor allows you to turn the blower controls on and off. Without a functioning resistor, the blower will be stuck on one setting and you won't be able to turn it on and off. The resistor is located behind the glove compartment, so you can access it easily with the appropriate tools. It should only take you a few minutes to replace the resistor.

Instructions

    1

Open the Grand Am's hood and use a socket wrench to unplug the negative terminal from the battery.

    2

Open the glove box and remove the five screws from the rear of the glove box using a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the glove box from the vehicle.

    3

Remove the two 7-mm bolts holding the resistor in place behind the glove box. Remove the resistor and replace it with a new blower resistor.

    4

Reattach the two bolts and reattach the glove box and its screws.

    5

Reconnect the battery and close the hood.
