If the car's front alignment camber is bent, this can cause problems with steering and handling the car, making it extremely dangerous to drive especially on freeways. Camber refers to the angle at which the front wheel sits. Fixing the bent front alignment is imperative to ensure your safety while driving. You can fix the front alignment camber by repositioning it and measuring the distance between the two front wheels to verify they are now aligned.

Instructions

    1

Point the wheels of the car straight ahead. Find the castle nut. It should be located within the front wheel ball joint.

    2

Remove the securing cotter pin inside the castle nut with pliers and unscrew the nut with a crescent wrench.

    3

Change the position of the front alignment wheel camber by pushing the ball joint forward or backward. Repeat this step on the opposite front wheel.

    4

Tighten the castle nuts with the pliers and place new cotter pins in the castle nuts to secure them.

    5

Measure the length between the two front tires and also measure the length between the two rear tires to ensure they are aligned. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 with the rear tires if needed.
