Chevrolet released the first Blazer in 1969. Unlike the more recent Blazer, the 1969 version was a full-sized SUV. In 1983, Chevrolet released the S-10 Blazer, a more maneuverable mid-sized SUV. In 1995, Chevy redesigned the Blazer, giving it a more rounded body, as well as modernizing the headlights and taillights. This body style lasted through the Blazer's final model year, 2005. Replacing the brake light bulbs in the 2003 Blazer is a fairly simple process.
Instructions
- 1
Open the Blazer's rear hatch and locate the two screws securing the taillight assembly to the rear hatch jamb.
2Remove the two taillight assembly screws, using a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the taillight assembly away from the rear of the Blazer.
3Turn the taillight socket counterclockwise to unlock it and pull the socket and bulb from the taillight assembly.
4Pull the burned-out bulb from the socket, using a slight wiggling motion. Press a new 3057 bulb, using a clean, lint-free cloth, into the socket. Never touch the bulb with you bare hands, as the oils left from your hands may cause premature bulb failure.
5Insert the socket and new bulb into the rear of the taillight assembly and twist it clockwise to lock it into place.
6Set the taillight assembly back on the Blazer and tighten the two screws, using a Phillips screwdriver, to secure it. Close the Blazer's rear hatch.
