Frame sliders, which are also known as fairing protectors or crash bobbins, are street motorcycle accessories that help protect the fairings and inner components of the bike if it crashes or gets tipped over on its side. Motosliders is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based company that manufactures high quality motorcycle sliders. Over time, slider bolts can become difficult to remove. It may be best to have a helper to help hold the motorcycle while the bolts are removed.

Instructions

    1

Slip a 10 mm socket over the 10 mm bolt on the right-hand side of the slider assembly bracket on the right-hand side of the motorcycle. Have your helper hold the motorcycle while you slip a breaker bar over the ratchet. Push down on the breaker bar and ratchet until the bolt "breaks" free.

    2

Change to a 12 mm socket and then slip it onto the 12 mm bolt on the left-hand side of the slider assembly bracket, on the right-hand side of the motorcycle. Insert the breaker bar over the ratchet handle and push down until the bolt comes free.

    3

Move to the left-hand side of the cycle and locate the slider bracket on that side. It too is held in place by a 10 mm and 12 mm bolt. Use the ratchet set with the breaker bar to remove these two bolts and then slide the slider assembly off of the motorcycle.
