The carburetor of your Chevrolet V8 S10 truck is an important component of your vehicle's engine because it regulates the intake of fuel and air and controls the speed of the S10. Located in the engine compartment, the carburetor has several electrical components that need to be wired properly in order to function. Before wiring your S10's carburetor, you need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle to prevent any accidental shocks from occurring.

Instructions

    1

Lift up the hood of the S10 and disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench.

    2

Pull the air cleaner assembly off the carburetor. Remove the gasket as well.

    3

Remove the four carburetor attaching nuts next to the mounting insulator.

    4

Connect the wiring connectors from the choke of the carburetor. Squeeze the tabs and push the collector into the carburetor until you hear a clicking noise.

    5

Reattach the nuts and the air cleaner assembly. Reconnect the battery and close the hood.
