Gas-powered scooters have become popular over the years largely due to fuel efficiency and easy maneuverability, especially in large, urban areas. The CH150 Elite is a scooter manufactured by Honda during the 1980s. Part of the regular maintenance routine for the CH150 includes changing the oil on a regular basis. The CH150 uses a screen and spring-type oil filter to clean oil as it circulates through the engine. When the oil is changed, the oil seal, which is a small O-ring connected to the oil filter, should be changed too.
Instructions
- 1
Run the scooter for a few moments to warm up the engine oil, which will help it to drain easier.
2Park the scooter and slide the drain pan beneath the engine.
3Use the socket set to remove the filter screen cap. Allow all the oil to drain into the pan.
4Pull the spring and filter screen out by hand.
5Pry the oil seal from around the rim of the hole that the filter screen cap screws into with a flat-head screwdriver.
