Since the 1965 release of the Datsun now Nissan 520 pickup the import automakers trucks have been popular sellers. In 1985, Nissan decided to stretch its bounds a little and add a cap to the rear of the pickup, throw in some rear seats and call this new vehicle the Pathfinder. Just like the pickup its based on, the Pathfinder saw near immediate success. Tamer and plusher than its earlier renditions, the 1997 Pathfinder came standard with a six-speaker AM-FM radio with CD player and it had an optional Bose system that included a tape player. Replacing the Bose stereo in the Pathfinder is straightforward and requires just basic tools.
