How to Use a Flexplate Wrench

Mechanics use a flexplate wrench to remove the flexplate from different types of automobiles. The flexplate is a piece of equipment that is attached to the crank shaft in automatic transmissions. The main purpose is to transfer the engine's power to the transmission from the torque converter bolted to the flexplate. The wrench is for the flexplate only and sells at many auto shops.

Locate the flexplate on your vehicle. It is attached to the crankshaft near the transmission of most cars and trucks.

Place the head of the wrench onto the edges of the flexplate. Adjust the grippers so that they fix the plate tightly.

Turn the flexplate wrench until the plate becomes loosened. Remove the flexplate in order to do repairs or replace it.
