If a window in your 1998 Nissan Sentra can't be raised or lowered, it may be stuck on the window regulator, or the regulator itself may be damaged. To remedy this problem, remove the window from the regulator, and inspect the regulator. The work should take no longer than an hour.
Instructions

Locate the two screws attached to the door handle on your Sentra. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws, and pull the door handle away from the door.
2Unhook the door panel trim from around its connectors. Pull the trim away from the door. Remove the screws attached to the door panel. Pull the door panel away from the door.
3Remove the two bolts connecting the window to the window regulator. Place the bolts in a safe area such as a magnetic tray to ensure you don't lose them. Lift the window away from the door frame.
4Determine whether the window regulator can move up and down within the door frame. If it doesn't move, remove the mounting bolts from the regulator and replace it. Place the new regulator on the door, and tighten the bolts.
5Place the window back into the door frame. Line up the bolt holes on the bottom of the window pane with those on the top of the regulator, and insert the bolts. Lift the door panel back onto the door, and fix it in place with the screws. Slide the door handle back in place, and reattach the two screws.
