If the windshield on your Chevrolet Blazer is cracked, even slightly, chances are that the crack will continue to get worse over time. In most states a cracked windshield is an automatic ticket, so it's critical that you replace the windshield as soon as possible. This repair is not overly difficult, but it does take a bit of patience.

Instructions

    1

Slide the screwdriver under the edge of the weather stripping on the outside of the windshield's perimeter to remove the stripping.

    2

Slide the razor blade along the edge of the windshield to cut the silicone bonding holding the windshield in place.

    3

Use the small crowbar to gently lift each edge of the windshield to make sure it is completely free. Have you assistant help lift the windshield out of the car's frame and set it aside.

    4

Use the razor blade and sandpaper to remove any leftover silicone from the edges of the car frame. Apply bonding agent to the edges of the car frame as well as the new windshield.

    5

Caulk a bead of silicone sealant along the edge of the Blazer's frame, and have your assistant help lift the new windshield into place. Carefully lower the windshield onto the frame, and press it firmly into place.

    6

Slide the screwdriver along the edge of the windshield to remove the excess silicone, then reinstall the weather stripping. Allow the windshield to dry for at least four hours before driving the vehicle and at least 24 hours before washing the vehicle.
