The air conditioning system of your Honda Accord has an electric fan, also referred to as a blower fan, underneath the dashboard of your vehicle. If the electric fan begins to fail, the A/C system will not work properly. In this situation, installing a new fan will allow you to use the A/C again. It is a fair bit of work as the right-side kick panel must be removed to access the fan, but it is otherwise fairly straightforward and should only take an hour to complete.
Instructions
- 1
Disconnect the Accord's battery by using a socket wrench to remove the negative battery terminal.
2Remove the four screws from the kick panel on the right side of the vehicle, underneath the glove box. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws.
3Remove the two brass screws from the plastic cross-brace underneath the dash and remove the brace itself.
4Reach up through the area revealed by removing the brace to access the electric fan.
5Disconnect the electrical connector from the fan and remove its three securing screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
6Remove the fan and attach a replacement to the vehicle. Reinstall the electrical connector and three screws.
7Reattach the brace and the glove box. Reconnect the negative battery terminal when done.
