Wind deflectors attach to the windows of your car and reduce the amount of wind that enters the cabin when your windows are rolled down. These deflectors attach by screwing into place and are secured with a strip of double-sided tape. Removing wind deflectors and the double-sided tape that attaches them to your vehicle can be difficult because the tape is highly adhesive. Heating the double-sided tape and using gentle natural oils will help you remove the tape from the wind defector and your vehicle without damaging you car or the deflectors.
Instructions
- 1
Unscrew and remove the screws that attach the wind deflector to your car.
2Turn your blow dryer or heat gun to a low setting and direct the heated air flow underneath the wind deflector. Gently wiggle the wind deflector back and forth while pulling up on it to remove the deflector from your vehicle.
3Continue applying the heated air to both your car and the wind deflector where portions of double-sided tape remain. Pull off as many large chunks of double-sided tape as possible using your hands.
4Saturate with eucalyptus oil the places on your car and the wind deflector where the double-sided tape or double-sided tape residue remain. Use a rag to scrub off the remaining tape and residue from your car and wind deflector.
