The Grand Cherokee was the pinnacle of the Jeep fleet in 1998. Available in either the base Laredo model or the fully loaded Limited model, the Grand Cherokee offered a variety of choices in interior options and drivetrain configurations. The exterior lights featured an integrated lamp package, where the turn signals, running lights and headlights fit together like puzzle pieces, providing one seamless light block on each corner of the Grand Cherokee. If the turn signal lamp incurs damage, odds of the turn signal bulbs lasting very long are slim, so immediate replacement is essential.

Instructions

    1

Turn off the Jeep's lights and remove the keys from the ignition. Open the hood.

    2

Remove the Torx-head screw under the turn signal lamp with a No. 2 Torx driver. Remove the Torx-head screw from the top of the turn signal lamp -- on the corner closest to the center of the Grand Cherokee -- with the No. 2 Torx driver.

    3

Pull the old turn signal lamp out of the Jeep's front clip. Twist the turn signal socket counterclockwise to unlock it.

    4

Pull the socket and bulb out of the turn signal lamp. Set the old turn signal lamp aside. Slide the socket and bulb into the new turn signal lamp and turn it clockwise to lock it into place.

    5

Set the turn signal lamp in place. Thread the lower Torx-head screw in with the Torx driver, but do not tighten it yet. Thread the upper Torx-head screw into the turn signal lamp with the Torx driver.

    6

Tighten both screws with the Torx driver. Close the hood.
