The TI-30, a scientific calculator manufactured by Texas-Instruments, performs many functions and operations, two of which involve fractions and subtraction. The TI-30 has several options for working with fractions including changing from decimal to fraction. Although the TI-30 does not provide as many options as the TI-83, the calculator performs enough operations and functions for basic geometric and trigonometric functions.
Instructions
- 1
Press "ON/C" to turn the TI-30 on.
2Enter a fraction into the calculator by first typing in the numerator, then pressing the "a b/c" button, and then entering the denominator. Now you can perform basic operations with fractions.
3Enter mixed fractions the same way as entering regular fractions, but by pressing the "a b/c" button after each number. For example, five and two fourths would be entered as "5," "a b/c," "2," "a b/c" and then "4." The TI-30 then simplifies to 5 1/2.
4Pressing "2nd" and then "d/c" toggles between mixed numbers and improper functions.
5Pressing "2nd" and then "F--D" will toggle between fractions and decimals.
6Enter a value, then press subtract, then another value, and finally the equal sign to perform subtraction.
