The Corrado is a three-door hatchback that was first produced by Volkswagen in 1988 and ceased production in 1995. In order to keep the engine cool, the Corrado is equipped with a radiator. If the radiator starts malfunctioning or if it is corroded or you simply want to upgrade it, there are a few simple steps you will need to follow in order to replace the radiator.

Instructions

    1

Open the hood and locate the radiator which is between the engine compartment and the front bumper.

    2

Slide a flat pan underneath the radiator.

    3

Pull the plug on the bottom of the radiator. Turn it with your hands. When you do this, the coolant from the radiator will flow out and into your pan, so be prepared to get some coolant on your hands.

    4

Loosen the silver clip that holds your radiator hose to your radiator by turning it with your slotted screwdriver.

    5

Pull the radiator hose out of the radiator. There may be some residual fluid left in the hose. Just make sure that it leaks into the container that you set down. Wait for the fluid to stop flowing from the release valve.

    6

Loosen the four bolts that hold the radiator to the radiator mount. Turn the bolts counterclockwise with your crescent wrench. Start with a 9-mm wrench, and move your way up if it is too small.

    7

Remove the bolts by sliding them out with your hands.

    8

Grasp the radiator on the left and the right with your hands, and pull it straight up.

    9

Slide your new radiator into the compartment, and secure it with the bolts you removed at the beginning of the procedure.

    10

    Reconnect your radiator hose.
