The blower fan on a 1994 Chevrolet pickup is mounted to the water pump pulley on the front of the engine. This fan is critical to proper engine cooling, and if it gets damaged or cracks, then the engine and radiator may not cool properly. If this happens, the engine could overheat and if left unchecked, could damage the engine to the point where it stops running. To fix the problem, you must first remove the blower fan so that you can replace it.

Instructions

    1

Pop the hood. Remove the plastic fan shroud cover using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Lift it off of the core support and set it aside.

    2

Hold one of the blades on the fan to keep it steady. Then remove the bolts holding the fan clutch to the water pump pulley, using an open-end wrench. Take the fan and fan clutch out and away from the engine bay.

    3

Unbolt the fan clutch from the fan, using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.
