Location of the 2002 Volvo V70 Engine Temperature Sensor

The engine temperature and coolant sensor alerts you when your engine is about to overheat. Information from the sensor about the engine's temperature is displayed on the vehicle's dash. If this sensor is not working, you run the risk of serious engine problems. Locating the sensor in a 2002 Volvo V70 is the first step toward replacing it.

Instructions

    1

Turn the car off. Ensure the engine has completely cooled off before working on it.

    2

Remove the key from the ignition and pop the hood.

    3

Locate the main pipe of the engine that runs the vertical length of the car, slightly left of the center.

    4

Follow this main pipe back past the radiator to the thermostat. There is a metal housing with two screws in which the sensor is located.

    5

Remove the two screws and you are now at the sensor.
