The LS is a mid-sized sedan manufactured by Lincoln from 2000 to 2006. If the windows on your Lincoln LS break or are damaged because of an accident, you should replace them as soon as you can. Replacing the Lincoln LS's windows should take you around an hour, in part because you have to remove the door panel. Replacement windows can be purchased at most auto-repair or glass-repair shops. Alternatively, you can order the windows directly from Lincoln, either through their online store or from your local Lincoln dealership.

Instructions

    1

Lower the windows all the way down. Open the Lincoln's hood and unplug its negative battery cable using a socket wrench.

    2

Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the armrest switch panel. Unplug the panel's electrical wiring connector.

    3

Remove the screws revealed by removing the armrest switch panel with a cross-head (Phillips) screwdriver.

    4

Remove the door handle cover using a cross-head screwdriver to remove its screw and then pulling it off the door.

    5

Remove the plastic retaining clips from around the edge of the door using a flat-head screwdriver. Remove the trim panel and disconnect its two electrical wiring connectors.

    6

Peel off the water shield from the door.

    7

Remove the rear channel bolt and the glass channel from the door.

    8

Raise up the window 2 inches and remove the window nuts with a socket wrench. Remove the two glass clamping bolts.

    9

Remove the window by pulling it up and out of the door. Slide a replacement window down into the door and reattach the bolts and nuts and glass channel.

    10

Firmly press the water shield onto the door to secure it.

    11

Reattach the trim panel, its two electrical wiring connectors, and its clips.

    12

Reinstall the door handle and door handle cover. Reattach the armrest switch panel.

    13

Reconnect the Lincoln's battery and raise the windows.
