The various gauges on the instrument cluster of your vehicle are important for knowing various bits of information when operating your vehicle. The speedometer tells you the speed at which you are traveling, the fuel gauge lets you know how much fuel you have left, and the tachometer lets you know your vehicle's acceleration. Connecting the gauges of your 2006 Ford vehicle with a Power Stroke engine is fairly simple and straightforward and should not take more than twenty-minutes to perform.

    Lift up the Ford's hood and use a socket wrench to disconnect the negative battery cable.

    Lift up the upper dash shroud above the instrument cluster and use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws on the underside of the dash shroud. Pull off the dash shroud.

    Remove the instrument cluster's four screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the instrument cluster out towards you.

    Reach behind the instrument cluster and locate the three wiring connectors. These are the wiring connector's for the instrument cluster's gauges. Plug in each of the three wiring connectors into the rear of the instrument cluster.

    Place the cluster back into the Ford vehicle and reattach its four screws. Reattach the dash shroud and its screws. Reconnect the battery and close the hood.
