If you drive on public roads or have ever parked at a grocery store or mall, theres a good chance your car has dings on it. Dings are unsightly, but can be expensive to have repaired at a body shop. The repair isnt expensive, but the paint work is. Body shops repair dents by using dent pullers, then repairing the metal and painting the area. There are three different options you can use to remove dings on your car without painting it -- in certain conditions.

Instructions

    1

Wet the dent with water and dish liquid. Place a household toilet plunger over the dent to create suction. Pull on the plunger until the dent pops out. Slide the plunger off of the car.

    2

Get behind the dent if possible and use a body hammer to tap the dent out. Remove plastic inner fenders and trim to reach the back side of the dent. Tap the metal with the hammer until the dent is back in place and the metal surface is smooth. This is only possible when you can reach the back side of the dent, like on a fender or near the wheel well.

    3

Push a stiff metal rod down between the door and window glass. Use the rod to put pressure on the back side of the dent and pop it out. Move the rod back and forth while you put pressure against the back of the dent. This can be done on doors and some areas that are harder to reach or cant be reached by removing trim or other pieces.
