Various Ford vehicles from 1966 to 1996 used the C6 transmission. Mainly used for trucks and larger vehicles, it featured three forward gears and one reverse gear. The Ford C6 transmission also featured an adjustment bolt on the transmission itself. With a socket wrench, you can adjust the bolt to adjust the shift of the transmission if you experience issues when shifting.
Instructions
- 1
Lift your Ford vehicle with a jack.
2Support your Ford vehicle's front end with jack stands.
3Adjust the adjustment bolt using a socket wrench. The bolt is on the driver's side of the transmission and tightens or loosens the band. It is recommended that you adjust the bolt to 10 ft-lbs.
4Remove the jack stands and lower your Ford vehicle.
