How to Wire a CA18DET

The CA18DET is an engine developed by the Nissan Motor Company and used in various vehicles between 1985 and 1990. For the CA18DET engine to operate properly, it must be correctly wired to a power source. This power source is the battery in the engine compartment of your Nissan vehicle. Wiring the engine is fairly simple and should take no more than 10 minutes to do.

Instructions

Pop the hood release on your Nissan vehicle. Lift the hood and prop it up to access the engine compartment.

Connect the positive terminal of the battery with a socket wrench. Make sure you connect the positive terminal first. Then connect the negative terminal to the battery.

Test the engine by turning on the ignition to your Nissan vehicle with the key. If it turns on, the CA18DET engine is wired properly.

Turn off the engine and close the hood.
