All 1997 Buick vehicles came with four directional lights: two at the front and two at the rear of the vehicle. These directional lights are important for informing other vehicles when and in which direction you will be turning. Not only are they important for safety reasons, but driving with a faulty directional light might mean receiving a ticket from the authorities. Thankfully, replacing any of your 1997 Buick's directional light is very simple job that does not take more than 10 minutes to complete.
Instructions
Front Directional Lights

Open the hood of the Buick vehicle and put on the clean gloves. Remove the two bolts from the rear of the headlamp assembly with a 10-mm hex socket wrench.
2Slide the headlamp out until the securing pins come loose.
3Rotate the turn signal bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.
4Install a replacement 3357-type bulb and rotate it clockwise to secure it.
5Place the headlamp assembly back into its initial position and reattach the two securing bolts. Close the hood.
Rear Directional Lights

Lift up the trunk lid and remove the carpet from the trunk. Put on the clean gloves.
7Rotate the turn signal bulb on the tail lamp assembly counterclockwise one-quarter turn and pull it out of the assembly.
8Install a replacement 3357-type bulb and rotate it clockwise to secure it.
9Place the carpet back into the trunk and close the trunk lid.
